SoDel Concepts Launches SoDel Well
In 2022, Rehoboth Beach, Delaware-based SoDel Concepts recently started SoDel Well, a fitness program to help employees create healthy habits, manage stress and improve their overall well-being.
More than 100 participants a week take the classes, offered six days a week, between 6 a.m. and 4 p.m.
In addition to SoDel Concepts restaurants, they work at Highwater Management, Surf Bagel and Southern Delaware Brewing.
“It’s no secret that the hospitality industry is hard on the body,” said Scott Kammerer, CEO of SoDel Concepts. “We are dedicated to improving the lives of our team members, which includes providing them with the skills and education they need to succeed. Wellness is another integral component.”
The company hired personal trainer Hansel Fuller as director of wellness.
“Mental and physical fitness is so important in all facets of life—business and home,” he said. “Working out with your peers creates a sense of teamwork and helps strengthen the corporate culture. It’s really motivating.”
Meghan King, director of training for SoDel Concepts, would agree. “Hans made it easy to get started—he makes fitness fun and approachable,” she said. “I’ve grown so much stronger already and have so much more energy.”
The program has a downloadable app that lets users view the workout schedule and sign up for classes at Rehoboth Beach Barbell Club, located on Route 1 on the Forgotten Mile.
Options include yoga, HIIT, functional strength training and a walking club.
The activities foster team spirit in more ways than one. Kammerer’s wife, Lisa, is a lead instructor. Lisa has been teaching group fitness classes for over 17 years and is teaching strength and HIIT classes for SoDel Well.
